Post Viral conditions

These conditions, which are difficult to treat with conventional medicine, can respond well to nNEAP. Although the virus causing Glandular Fever is probably different from PVFS/ME, many of the symptoms such as fatigue, tiredness, depression, headaches and muscle and joint pains are the same, and as a group they can all benefit from nNEAP.

Glandular Fever, which tends to produce milder symptom, probably responds a bit better and faster, but even with PVFS/ME about 60% (more than 1 in 2) of patients will benefit from a few sessions of treatment. nNEAP stimulates the body’s healing processes - energy levels improve, fatigue is reduced, muscle pain and headaches lessen and depression lifts.

Tiny battery-generated impulses are applied to appropriate points on the ear and body. These boost the immune system, reduce pain and inflammation through endorphin release, and stimulate the release of chemicals in the brain such as serotonin, which make the patient feel better and raise energy levels. The treatment is painless. Usually several treatments are necessary, but the effects are lasting and there are no side effects.

Case History

A 13 year old boy had had Glandular Fever 18 months before he was first seen. He had been off school completely for 6 months and then had been back to school on a part time basis managing perhaps a couple of half days a week. He had continued to have headaches almost daily with muscle aches and pains and tiredness, but was slowly improving, and then 3 months before he was seen a viral chest infection had stirred up his symptoms again. He was losing more time from school, and all his pains had worsened.

He was treated with nNEAP and by the fourth treatment he began to feel significantly better. He went back to school within two months, and continued to improve. He had 20 treatments in all, the last few times at monthly intervals. Within six months of starting treatment he was playing rugby and was back to school full time.
