This practice has been established in Colchester, Essex, for more than 30 years. We offer acupuncture, electroacupuncture, osteopathy and mindbody medicine/hypnotherapy.

 

The practice is unusual in that I am one of the few medically qualified doctors in the UK who works full time in acupuncture and osteopathy. I believe this gives you an ideal approach to your health problems. You have the benefit of my many years practical experience of complementary medicine and what it can achieve, but this is grounded in traditional medical training, an understanding of current knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology, and is informed by evidence based medicine. 

 

In this practice we use musculoskeletal medicine (manipulation and acupuncture) for the treatment of myofascial pain and chronic and acute pain. This includes such conditions as back pain, neck pain, sciatica, joint problems such as shoulder hip and knee pain, and the pain of arthritis. I have a particular interest in the treatment of chronic pelvic pain in both men and women, and we can help bladder problems such as irritative bladder, painful bladder syndrome, recurrent cystitis and interstitial cystitis.

 

With acupuncture we can also treat a much wider range of conditions than simply pain, such as headaches and migraines, stress and anxiety, hormone disturbances (painful irregular periods, PMS and hot flushes) and skin problems.

 

More recently we have developed treatments for infertility, to help improve fertility, and to accompany IVF using acupuncture and mindbody medicine/hypnotherapy. This is an exciting field and there is an increasing body of evidence to support the use of these treatments.
